Ceremony of Yusry and Lisa earns praises from Malay dailies

THE wedding of acclaimed local director Yusry Abdul Halim and screen starlet Lisa Surihani Mohamed hogged the headlines of Malay dailies, singing praises of the celebrity couple.

Pictures of the loving couple graced the front pages as a prelude to detailed descriptions of the “Winter Garden” themed wedding at Hotel Marriott Putrajaya on Wednesday night.

Some 250 family members and friends of the couple attended the event, where the 38-year-old Yusry presented his wife with nine sets of hantaran or wedding gifts, on top of a platinum chain as dowry.

Hollywood Director Sean Stone Converts To Islam

U.S filmmaker Sean Stone, the son of Oscar winning Hollywood director Oliver Stone, has recently converted to Islam in Iran while working on a short documentary project there.

Sean Stone underwent conversion ceremony in Iran and after becoming Muslim he has decided to become a Shiite and will be called “Muhammad Ali” by name.

Sean Stone father Oliver Stone is a Jewish and his mother is Christian but Sean Stone is happy to be Muslim. “The conversion to Islam is not abandoning Christianity or Judaism, which I was born with. It means I have accepted Mohammad and other prophets,” saysSean Ali Stone.

13,000 DVD Cetak Rompak, Lucah Dirampas

KUALA LUMPUR - Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) merampas 10,000 keping cakera video digital (DVD) cetak rompak filem Tamil dan 3,000 keping DVD lucah bernilai RM200,000 dalam satu serbuan di sebuah premis di Jalan Tun Sambanthan di sini, malam tadi.

Ketua Bahagian Kawalan Penapisan Filem dan Penguatkuasaan KDN Cawangan Wilayah Persekutuan, Omar Mohd Bahari berkata premis yang mula beroperasi sejak dua tahun lepas pernah diserbu beberapa kali sebelum ini.

Misha Bertunang Semalam, Kahwin Akhir Tahun

KOTA BHARU - Penyanyi Misha Omar selamat melangsungkan pertunangan dengan kekasihnya, Firos Ezzwan Rossly, 30, di kediaman keluarganya di Buchil Bayam, di sini semalam.

Majlis pertunangan disempurnakan oleh bakal ibu mertuanya, Asmah Kenin dengan menyarung cincin di jari manis Misha atau nama sebenarnya, Samihah@Aisah Omar, 30.

"Alhamdulillah, akhirnya kami telah masuk ke satu fasa baharu dalam hubungan kami.

"Saya harap agar semua pihak mendoakan ikatan kami ini berpanjangan ke jenjang pelamin," kata penyanyi yang terkenal dengan lagu Bunga-Bunga Cinta serta Adam dan Hawa itu.

Beliau memilih Firos kerana bakal suaminya itu menepati segala ciri lelaki impiannya selain rapat dengan anak angkatnya, Muhammad Adam Emir.

Misha memberitahu, kedua-dua pihak juga bersetuju mengadakan majlis perkahwinan akhir tahun ini.

"Tarikh sebenar belum diputuskan tetapi mungkin selepas Aidilfitri nanti," katanya yang mengenali Firos lima tahun lalu.

'Colbert Report' To Return Monday After Absence

NEW YORK (AP) — A representative for Stephen Colbert says "The Colbert Report" will return Monday after a sudden break due to the ailing health of the star's mother.

The Comedy Central show last week substituted repeats for scheduled shows on Wednesday and Thursday. At the time, the network said only that the cancellations were because of "unforeseen circumstances."

Colbert is expected to address his absence on Monday. His 91-year-old mother, Lorna Colbert, is ill.

Earlier on Twitter, Colbert thanked those who had offered "thoughts and prayers."

Colbert's father, James Colbert, and two of his brothers were killed in an airplane crash in 1974.

Lindsay Lohan To Guest Host 'SNL' Next Month

NEW YORK (AP) — Lindsay Lohan's comeback trail is leading her to "Saturday Night Live."

NBC says the troubled actress, whose career in recent years has been upstaged by legal and personal problems, will serve as guest host of "SNL" on March 3. The network said Sunday that the musical guest that night will be Jack White.

It will be Lohan's fourth turn as host of the late-night comedy show. She presided in 2004, 2005 and 2006, before her career faltered. In recent years, she has mostly been in the public eye in connection with her multiple arrests and episodes of substance abuse. In December, she appeared in Playboy magazine in a mostly nude pictorial.
